Sunesta is actively recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager.  The Operations Manager's overall role is to ensure that Sunesta operates in a safe environment while managing the optimum level of inventory, personnel, and processes with the goal of supplying quality products that are received by our customers on time and made the right way the first time. Due to our current seasonality, it is imperative that the Operations Manager has the ability to plan and adjust our inventory and personnel levels due to the changing demand. However, these changes can not negatively effect the service to our customers and the quality of our products at anytime. This position requires extensive responsibility and accountability that has a large impact on sales growth, profitability, and the success of the organization.

Essential Duties:

  • Proactively creates, maintains, and supports processes which create a safe working environment for all Sunesta employees, visitors, and contractors with the goal of zero annual safety incidents.
  • Leads the Sunesta purchasing, inventory, and production personnel to achieve the mission of producing every product on time, the right way, the first time
  • Oversees the proper maintenance and security of the facility.
  • Maintains a "clean as you go" environment of our facility on a daily basis.
  • Reviews the daily upkeep and downtime prevention of all facility equipment. 
  • Ensures that we have the proper tools and equipment in working order for personnel, inventory, and processes in order to operate at the proper level with each department in sync with each other.
  • Analyzes the proper use of our facility space ensuring that we have enough space at our peak production and minimizes the amount of space needed during our lowest output.
  • Leadership skills which create an environment where employees are motivated and working efficiently. contributing to Sunesta's improvement and success.
  • Manages the direct and temporary purchasing, production, and inventory personnel; proper personnel levels, their pay rates, operating procedures, and morale.
  • Oversees inventory levels to ensure they match the seasonality of our operational needs.
  • Reviews purchasing processes, purchasing opportunities, and sourcing in an effort to reduce cost, working capital, and space use.
  • Measures the effectiveness of current processes and identifies opportunities to improve.
  • Researches and implements technology and innovation to improve operations.
  • Communicates effectively with other Sunesta and Gibraltar Industries personnel and departments in an effort to improve Sunesta, the Home Improvement Group, and Gibraltar Industries.

Experience:

5+ years Management in Operations

OSHA 30, First Responder & Forklift Certifications
